Defending rights, defending communities
At a time of unprecedented incursions on civil and social rights and entitlements in the realm of welfare, housing, protection from discrimination and the right to protest, Law for Life is redoubling its efforts to work with frontline communities and activists to protect and defend access to justice and democratic accountability.
This programme of work will build on our successful track record:
- to bring together a coalition of groups to defend the right to protest and the rights of nomadic communities threatened by the Policing Bill 2021
- instigating media campaigns and strategic litigation to challenge unlawful Government practices impacting disability entitlements, and
- to tackle rogue landlords and homelessness vulnerability assessments with housing groups and collectives.
This project is funded by Necessity.
