Affordable Advice
We have just launched an exciting new project, in partnership with Resolution, which offers an entirely new approach to providing affordable legal advice on family law matters. This project offers those sorting out their finances after a divorce or going to court over child arrangements a blend of incredibly helpful step-by-step guidance from Advicenow so that they can do most of the work themselves, with fixed fee, unbundled legal advice from Resolution family lawyers at the most crucial or difficult points in the process.
Many Advicenow users are forced to be Litigants in Person as they can’t afford to pay a solicitor to help them with most of their case. But, of course, there are points in a case when it is incredibly helpful to get just a bit of expert help from a family lawyer. A combination of lack of confidence, uncertainties around cost, and high prices of legal help prevent many of our users from accessing the advice they need.
To help solve this problem, we have teamed up with Resolution to provide a panel of family law solicitors who can help at the most important points of the process for a fixed fee. Users are provided with a clear description of the tailored advice they will receive and exactly what it will cost - so that they can be certain they can afford it. Even better, we have worked with members of Resolution’s Innovation group to design a process that uses advance data capture to use the solicitor’s time efficiently, so that they can offer this help as cheaply as possible for the user. Most appointments are offered at £120 and users can choose from having appointments face to face, by telephone or over Skype, WhatsApp or Facetime.
Please help us spread the word about this innovative new service among your networks. And please tell anyone facing issues around child arrangements or divorce to go to advicenow.org.uk/divorce, where they will find all our relevant guides as well as details about the service.
Of course, Advicenow users who don’t want to or can't afford to use the service, don’t have to. Our guides continue to be as extraordinarily helpful as they always were.
