Child protection for Roma advocates

What is the training about?
It will help Roma champions and advocates who support Roma families to gain a better understanding of the child protection process.
As a result of attending this training you will:
- improve your understanding about the child protection process and key agencies involved in safeguarding of children in England,
- understand some of the reasons why Children’s Services get involved,
- understand the impact of the pandemic on social work practice and the court process and,
- develop strategies needed to support Roma parents to positively engage with Children’s Services.
Who should attend?
This training is aimed at intermediaries - Roma champions, advocates and support workers who support Roma families involved with Children's Services.
Who delivers the training?
Law for Life: the Foundation for Public Legal Education - a charity that aims to increase access to justice by providing everyone with an awareness of their legal rights together with the confidence and skills to assert them.
This training is delivered in partnership with the Roma Support Group - a Roma led charity working with East European Roma refugees and migrants since 1998.
