About the Report
In July 2024, we published the report "Come to us in a peaceful way: Improving experiences of Roma families with children’s services in England". The report explores the systemic and cultural barriers impacting Roma families’ engagement with children’s services. Based on legal case analyses, surveys of professionals, and focus groups with Roma families, the research highlights the effects of discrimination, poverty, and communication challenges. The findings provide actionable recommendations to foster trust, enhance cultural competence, and improve outcomes for Roma families and children.
