About the course

The course aims to give participants the basic knowledge and skills needed to deal with key housing issues in the private rented sector.

The course will be delivered in English.

We are particularly keen to invite participants who are community volunteers, members of a support group, a grassroots mutual aid organisation, or something similar.

The structure of the course

This short course will focus on the private rented sector and will include the following modules:

Dealing with poor housing conditions (2hr) - Wednesday 9th April
Benefits and housing (2hr) - Thursday 10th April
How to deal with a Section 21 eviction notice (2hr) - Wednesday 16th April

Participants are required to watch a 30 minute video before each interactive session.

The whole course is free to attend.

We request that each individual who would like to attend registers separately as this is important for our evaluation processes, and to keep track of numbers.

Upcoming workshops - section 21 evictions

We will also be running a number of stand-alone workshops on how to deal with Section 21 evictions, as we anticipate there may be an increase in the use of this legislation prior to the Renters Rights bill coming into effect.
